The park that surrounds Villa Mariani is a famous moraine
garden, where in 1884 Claude Monet
(1840 – 1926) painted.
Recent researches have found out the exact place where
Claude Monet made three paintings: Giardino a
Bordighera, Impressioni del mattino (1884), Vedute di
Ventimiglia (1884), Studio di piante di ulivo (1884).
Today the park is about one hectare wide and inside it
is possible to admire the different age-old trees together
with a wide range of palm trees and exotic plants; moreover
the are small fountains and ponds of beautiful shape.
At
present the botanical species present in the park are
being catalogued. |
